RAKU ON GLASS?
Almost….The metalic work on the crystal wine glasses is a decorative ceramic paste…or porcelain cream, that’s painted in three layers, dried for 24 hours and then baked to “imperfection” …. Just like Raku Pottery…only we don’t throw it!

Lori Schiersmann is a self-taught artist whose love of nature is her true inspiration. She loves painting on glass with Decorative Ceramic Paste or Enamel Paints.
I use a combination of 2 to 3 colours of Decorative Ceramic Paste or Enamel Paints blended on one brush to create shading and highlights all at once! It’s amazing what two colours on one brush can do!

“Raku on Glass”
When Lori uses the ceramic paste, she creates 3 layers to obtain that 3-dimensional look and feel of “Raku Pottery.” The creamy porcelain paste is fused onto the crystal glass when it is heat set, therefore you get the look and feel of Raku pottery art, but on glass.The fused porcelain cream (ceramic paste) on the crystal glass is so durable it’s totally dishwasher safe.
Custom Orders
I also love to enhance, or recreate beautiful items using your own glassware or ceramics so that it matches your home decor or event colours and theme. I can examine your dinner set and paint (using enamels) to match a set of wineglasses or a hurricane vase for your centerpiece. For weddings, I am able to use the brides bouquet to create a matching colourful set of Champagne flutes, with the names and date.

Shipping and Handling will be via Canada Post Express. Starting at $25/order and then by weight for large orders.
